The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve is one of the most iconic places to witness the spring wildflower display in California. In good years the hillsides transform into vast seas of orange that stretch as far as the eye can see.
This photograph was captured during a beautiful golden-hour moment when the poppies were glowing against the dramatic desert sky. Moments like this are exactly why I keep returning to the Mojave every spring.
