Hands down one of the best sunsets I've seen on the Oregon Coast. We drove to Pistol River, Oregon, and noticed a vibrant patch of lupine flowers perfect for framing the scene. Their purple blooms glowed in the warm golden light as the sun set over the Pacific. The southern coast delivered pure drama that sunset, as it lasted a good half an hour, as the waves crashed on the dark sand with the iconic sea stacks silhouetted against a fiery sky of oranges, pinks, and deep purples, and those coastal lupine adding an unexpected burst of foreground color.
Pistol River's open beaches, wind-swept dunes, and offshore rocks offer endless golden-hour magic to photograph especially when wildflowers align with the fading light.
A breathtaking moment of glorious beauty capturing Oregon's wild beauty.
