Mount Robson is one of the most majestic peaks in the Canadian Rockies. After a grueling 14-mile backpack with 2,500 feet of elevation gain, we finally reached Berg Lake. We were cold and exhausted, but the view was already incredible. Still wanting something even better, we decided to push another two miles uphill through thinning air to a higher ridge.
Layered up with six pieces of clothing, heart pounding from the altitude, we reached an opening just as the last warm light began to fade into blue hour and ignite the mountain. The effort was brutal, but standing there in awe made every step worth it.
This photograph captures that special blue hour moment high above Berg Lake when the light hit Mount Robson perfectly. Bring this Canadian Rockies beauty straight into your space so you can enjoy it all year.
