After a full day of photography in Banff National Park, we headed back to the Vermilion Lakes after dinner to capture a moonrise. We returned to the third lake and its small open pools. We arrived a little late, the moon already high in the sky. Moonlight bathed the white snowy expanse and iconic Mount Rundle in the background. Ice crystals sparkled under the glow.
I found an amazing curve in the snow and ice that made for a cool composition. I used a longer exposure to gently blur the clouds.
