Southern California beaches have some of the most photogenic coastlines anywhere. While living in Los Angeles, I have explored many of them, but Malibu always stands out as my favorite area. Just a short drive from crowded Santa Monica, the Pacific Coast Highway opens up to beautiful beaches, clear skies, and a sense of calm that washes away the everyday stress.
After days of rain and stormy weather, I knew the morning light at El Matador would be worth the early start. I arrived in the dark, set up near the cliffs, and waited.
