Yosemite in Winter

Yosemite in winter is one of the most magical times to experience the park. As you emerge from the mile-long Wawona Tunnel, Tunnel View opens to an incredible scene: granite cliffs, waterfalls, and snow-covered trees all blanketed in white. That evening, as clouds broke, a layer of fog rose in the valley below, creating this epic, short-lived moment.

No wonder Tunnel View in winter is so extraordinary and not to be missed on any Yosemite trip—especially when snow transforms the valley into pure serenity.
