I couldn't believe my eyes when the last light of the day hit Mount Assiniboine, known as the Matterhorn of the Canadian Rockies. The peak turned into a blazing orange and pink canvas against the deepening blue sky. Normally this mountain is hidden in clouds, so I was thrilled to finally witness and photograph this scene.
We watched as the warm sunset light bathed the summit and reflected beautifully in the alpine tarn below, with larch trees glowing in the foreground. I rushed to adjust the tripod as the light faded fast, capturing every hue before it vanished.
This photograph captures that magical backcountry moment in Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park when everything aligned perfectly. Bringing this Canadian Rockies beauty straight to your space so you can enjoy it all year.
