This is one of my favorite Malibu photographs from over the years. It was one of those perfect mornings that reminds me why I keep returning to this coastline. The light was some of the best I have ever seen.
I focused on a single sea stack, opened the shutter for a long exposure, and let the scene unfold. As the sun rose, the sky came alive with soft pinks and oranges, painting cotton candy clouds across the horizon while the waves blurred into silky motion around the rocks. Moments like that are why I chase sunrise along the California coast.
It is the kind of sunrise you never forget. Peaceful, powerful, and utterly alive. This photograph captures that exact feeling so you can bring it home and enjoy it every single day.
